Step into a role where your fieldwork, curiosity, and problem‑solving mindset directly support environmental protection across Ontario. As a Junior Environmental Technician, you'll contribute to meaningful environmental monitoring and contaminated lands projects that safeguard water, soil, and community well‑being.
You'll join a collaborative team of environmental engineers, geoscientists, technologists, and technicians working together to deliver high‑quality environmental solutions for municipal, industrial, and private clients.
Your Impact
Conduct groundwater and surface water monitoring, wastewater assessments, landfill gas checks, and detailed soil sampling to support compliance and project decisions.
Deliver accurate field documentation and sampling records that uphold regulatory and industry standards.
Apply field methods according to site‑specific workplans, contributing to consistent, high‑quality project delivery.
Support environmental assessments (Phase I, II, III), spill responses, and clean‑ups, helping clients meet environmental obligations.
Work closely with senior staff to compile and analyze environmental data used in technical reports.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors during well installation, utility locates, survey work, and test pit excavations—ensuring activities meet safety and quality expectations.
Maintain and calibrate field equipment, ensuring reliable and precise measurement data.
Communicate with clients, labs, service partners, and government stakeholders to support smooth project execution.
Uphold all corporate and client health & safety requirements on work sites.
The Skills That Set You Apart
You bring hands‑on experience—or a strong desire to build experience—in environmental fieldwork such as groundwater or soil sampling.
You've completed a technical diploma in environmental sciences, environmental technology, or a related discipline.
You're comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and performing physical tasks when needed.
You understand the importance of safety and follow procedures meticulously.
You are confident using (or learning) tools like water quality meters, gas meters, and sampling pumps, including calibration and basic maintenance.
You work well independently but also thrive as part of a coordinated project team.
You take pride in detailed, accurate field notes and documentation.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $51,800 – $68,600
MB & ON: $47,200 – $65,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $46,800 – $62,100
