The Opportunity

Shape Something Different.

Step into a hands‑on field role where you support the planning, installation, and maintenance of wells that power environmental remediation, groundwater management, and infrastructure development across the region. As a Well Technician within Applied Solutions, you'll spend your time on meaningful, community‑focused work — operating heavy vehicles, supporting drilling programs, and translating technical plans into real‑world outcomes.

The Well Technician role is ideal for candidates who thrive outdoors, enjoy solving practical problems, and want to grow a career supporting water, environmental, and infrastructure projects.

Your Impact

  • Install, service, and develop water supply and monitoring wells in accordance with Class 3 well‑technician standards and provincial regulations.
  • Operate AZ/DZ‑licensed vehicles to safely transport drilling equipment, materials, and tools to project locations.
  • Assist with drilling, casing, grouting, and well development activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑performing well construction.
  • Record subsurface observations, water levels, flow conditions, and daily site activities to support engineering and environmental decision‑making.
  • Collect groundwater and soil samples used in environmental assessments and remediation programs.
  • Contribute to projects supporting contaminated‑site remediation, water‑supply planning, and infrastructure development where wells and accurate field data are essential.
  • Maintain a safety‑first work environment by following WSP safety procedures, participating in tailgate meetings, and using proper PPE.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, hydrogeologists, and fellow technicians to achieve project milestones.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Hands‑on experience in well construction, drilling, environmental fieldwork, groundwater, or related activities (typically 3+ years in a technician or drilling‑support role).
  • Valid Well Technician Class 3 certification (or eligibility) in the province.
  • Valid AZ or DZ driver's licence (or provincial equivalent) with the ability to operate heavy vehicles safely.
  • Experience documenting well construction, logging subsurface materials, and maintaining high‑quality field records.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather, travel to remote project sites, and adapt to project‑driven schedules.
  • A technical background such as environmental science, geology, civil/water resources, or equivalent on‑the‑job field experience.
  • Comfortable using tablets or laptops to complete digital field forms, photo logs, and daily summaries.
  • A commitment to safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
