North Ridge Development Corporation, Saskatchewan's leading home builder, is seeking a full-time Manager of Estimating and Project Management to join our Saskatoon team. Candidates must be residents of Saskatchewan and legally able to work in Canada.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the estimating and project management functions within our organization, ensuring that projects are accurately costed, efficiently planned, and successfully executed from concept through completion. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a solid understanding of residential construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage people, processes, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide leadership and direction to the Estimating and Project Management teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across all projects.
· Oversee and be involved in the preparation and review of complete and accurate budgets and estimates for single-family, multi-family, and condominium projects.
· Develop and maintain standardized estimating and project management procedures, templates, and best practices.
· Manage the coordination, organization, and distribution of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, bids, scopes of work, and change orders.
· Collaborate with internal departments (Design, Sales, Construction, and Drafting) to align project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
· Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize pricing, quality, and scheduling outcomes.
· Oversee and continuously improve the estimating database, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of pricing and supplier information.
· Support Construction and Site Management teams in monitoring project progress, cost control, and subcontractor performance.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and communication.
· Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, trades, and suppliers to support the company's goals and uphold North Ridge's standards of quality and professionalism.
· Provide mentoring, training, and performance management for team members in the Estimating and Project Management departments.
· Contribute to strategic planning and forecasting, providing insight into project feasibility, costs, and scheduling impacts.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
· Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in estimating and/or project management within the residential construction industry. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is an asset.
· A diploma or degree in Building Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
· Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
· Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships across multiple concurrent projects.
· Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with a focus on cost efficiency and project quality.
· Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management or estimating software (experience with BuildTopia or similar systems considered an asset).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
· Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a team.
· Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
