Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Produce Associate to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing excellent customer service and maintaining the freshness and presentation of produce items. The ideal candidate will be organized, reliable, and passionate about delivering a positive shopping experience. Bilingual skills and previous retail or merchandising experience are a plus, but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in a dynamic retail environment.
Duties
- Stock and replenish produce displays, ensuring products are fresh, appealing, and properly labeled
- Assist customers with locating produce and answering questions about products
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the produce area, including cleaning shelves and equipment
- Operate equipment such as forklifts when necessary for stock movement (training provided)
- Perform cashiering duties including handling transactions accurately and efficiently
- Organize and merchandise produce displays to attract customers and maximize sales
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management
- Ensure proper rotation of produce to minimize waste and maintain quality standards
- Support maintenance tasks around the store as needed to ensure a clean, safe shopping environment
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and inventory management is beneficial
- Customer service experience is highly valued, with strong communication skills essential for engaging with shoppers
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling better service for diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Skills in cleaning, maintenance, and organizational tasks are important for daily operations
This position requires a proactive individual committed to teamwork, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a positive attitude toward maintaining a welcoming shopping environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.65-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
