Position Overview

The Government of Manitoba is seeking experienced
ABAP Cloud Developers
to support SAP modernization and digital transformation initiatives. Reporting to the IT Services Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, cloud-ready SAP applications on the
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
. The role requires close collaboration with functional teams, business analysts, and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with SAP best practices and public sector standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SAP solutions using
    ABAP Cloud
    ,
    RAP
    , and
    CDS views
  • Build and enhance applications on
    SAP BTP
    , ensuring scalability, performance, and security
  • Develop and support
    SAP Fiori/UI5
    applications using
    SAP Business Application Studio
  • Integrate SAP S/4HANA systems with external applications using
    SAP CPI
    ,
    REST/SOAP APIs
    , and
    IDocs
  • Create analytical CDS views and support embedded analytics and
    SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
    reporting
  • Utilize
    Git, gCTS, CI/CD pipelines, and Cloud ALM
    to support transport management and deployments
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and system integrators to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance optimizations
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation in accordance with government standards

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum
    five (5) years
    of experience in a similar SAP development role
  • Minimum
    five (5) years of experience working in a government or public sector environment
  • Strong experience with
    SAP S/4HANA
    ,
    ECC
    , and related SAP modules
  • Proven proficiency in
    ABAP
    ,
    ABAP Cloud
    ,
    RAP
    , and
    CDS views
  • Hands-on experience with
    SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
    and
    Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP)
  • Experience developing applications using
    SAP Fiori/UI5
    and
    SAP Business Application Studio
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies, including
    SAP CPI
    ,
    REST/SOAP APIs
    , and
    IDocs
  • Experience with
    Git
    ,
    gCTS
    , transport management,
    CI/CD pipelines
    , and
    Cloud ALM
  • Experience building analytical CDS views and working with
    SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large-scale
    ERP programs
  • Experience converting systems from
    SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA
  • Familiarity with
    SAP implementation methodologies
    (e.g., SAP Activate)
  • Experience working in
    Hybrid Agile
    project environments
  • Experience collaborating with large
    System Integrator
    teams
