Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician / Climber to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting field operations, including tower climbing, rigging, installation and maintenance.

Installs, configures, and troubleshoots local area and wide area networks for customers on site.

Provide design, installation, implementation, training and ongoing support for computer equipment, software, networking components, cellular repeaters/boosters, satellite communications and enhancement of these technologies for customers located in remote locations

This role requires a strong safety mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to work at heights in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular tower / monopole climbing and related fieldwork safely and efficiently.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment at height.
  • Complete daily pre-trip inspections, PPE inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with all OHS, fall protection, and site-specific requirements.
  • Participate in regular training exercises and maintain rescue certifications.
  • Complete required documentation, including field-level hazard assessments (FLHAs), fall protection plans, and daily safety reports.
  • ·Complete the daily time tracking describing the job, hours worked and the name of job

Qualifications

  • Valid Fall Protection certification (Energy Safety Canada or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years tower climbing experience in telecommunications or related industry.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (clean driver's abstract required).
  • Over 25 years old
  • Ability to travel within Alberta, BC, and occasionally other provinces.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures with zero tolerance for shortcuts.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights in varying weather conditions.
  • First Aid & CPR certification (Required).
  • Background in telecommunications (Required)
