We are looking for experienced civil works/excavation operator to join our team in the Lower Mainland. Specifically we do commercial excavation (civil & earthworks), demolition and site preparation projects. Experience with civil works/some knowledge is a must

The foreman's duties are:

  • Operating heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, as required for civil and earthworks projects
  • Assisting with daily construction and site tasks as assigned
  • Fill daily logs, keep track of crew hours, trucks, progress, etc.
  • Coordinate with superintendents and/or project management and ensure all resources (people, materials, and equipment) are in place each day.
  • Operating heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and project specifications
  • Monitor and report project progress, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise
  • Manage our field crews and daily tasks as needed
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintenance

Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

  • 10 years of experience minimum as civil operator
  • Experience in civil work and earthwork is a must
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and safety regulations
  • Proficient in the operation of various excavation equipment
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and their own vehicle to travel to site.
  • Maintain quality results of work to be done.
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset.
  • Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
