Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides to provide exceptional in-home support to a client in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others, especially seniors and those with disabilities. The Home Care Aide will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for the client by offering personalized care, companionship, and support in the homes and occasionally outside of the home. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or senior care is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your caregiving skills in a supportive environment.

Duties

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as directed by family
  • Assist with feeding if necessary
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
  • Monitor and report any changes in health status or behavior to family
  • Assist with specialized care needs such as Parkinson's ensuring dignity and comfort at all times

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is preferred
  • Punjabi speaking
  • Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and home care best practices is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility support safely
  • Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and administer medications accurately under supervision
  • Experience with basic meal preparation and basic cleaning tasks is beneficial
  • Certification or training in patient care or nursing assistance is a plus
  • Must be reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality personal care in a respectful manner
  • Comfortable using a ceiling lift
  • Criminal record check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
