About You
You are an experienced aerospace assembler, technician, or manufacturing professional with deep hands-on knowledge of industry-standard assembly processes. You take pride in precision, safety, and quality workmanship and you understand how critical those skills are in aerospace production. You enjoy mentoring others, teaching best practices, and helping learners gain the confidence and competence needed to succeed in this highly specialized field. Position Summary
The Aerospace Assembly Instructor will deliver high-quality, applied training in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and production processes. You will teach hands-on skills, guide students through practical lab work, support them in developing technical competencies, and ensure a safe, structured learning environment. This is a full-time, on-campus role in the Niagara region, ideal for an industry professional who wants to transition into teaching while shaping the next generation of aerospace talent.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on instruction in aerospace assembly, component fabrication, and production processes
- Teach students to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Demonstrate and supervise proper use of tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment
- Train learners in safety protocols, quality standards, and inspection procedures
- Oversee lab activities and ensure safe, compliant workshop operations
- Assess student progress through practical evaluations, demonstrations, and assignments
- Provide individualized support, tutoring, and coaching to help students master technical skills
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement
- Support onboarding for new cohorts and help maintain a strong student experience from enrollment to graduation
- Collaborate with faculty, operations, and leadership to ensure exceptional program delivery
- Other instructional or academic support tasks as required
What We're Looking For:
- 3–5 years of hands-on aerospace assembly experience, including the use of precision tools, torque tools, sealants, riveting, composites, wiring harnesses, or structural assembly.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing documentation, and standard work instructions.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., AS9100, Transport Canada, FAA/EASA standards).
- Previous teaching, coaching, or training experience in a technical or aerospace environment strongly preferred.
- WHMIS, Health & Safety training, or other relevant compliance certifications an asset
Trade certification or industry-recognized credentials (e.g., A&P License, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License, or Aerospace Assembly Technician certificate) considered an asset.
Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices, inspection techniques, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, assessments and practical exercises.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.
- Classroom management skills and ability to support students at varying skill levels.
- Skilled in providing constructive feedback, evaluating student performance, and documenting progress.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
