Quality Technician (2 positions) 

The Quality Technician is responsible for driving the ISO, quality, sampling, stewardship compliance, and related programs at the site, ensuring quality and alignment with applicable procedures.

The Quality Technician is responsible to oversee and support the sites manufacturing of quality seed products. 

We have 2 positions available at this time: 

  1. one permanent position at our Coaldale/Lethbridge, AB site; and
  2. one, 12-month position at our Cranbrook, BC site. 

What you will do:

Coordinate and maintain the site Quality Program, by conducting regular trainings and audits, provide solutions for quality issues in a timely and appropriate mannerMaintain accurate records for quality and continuous improvement activities performed, leveraging internal systemsMaintain and complete all compliance reporting obligationsParticipate in daily meetings and follow through on quality-related issues. Support areas across the plant to drive the adoption of one management systemUse focused improvement techniques to contribute to the improvement of processes and quality management programDevelop best practices and share within the quality and compliance networksHelp train and update ISO programs for the siteCompliance with all quality and ISO standards for business operationsSupport effective internal audit program on Site Support implementation of respective global/regional Quality initiatives, programs and regulations

Who you are:

High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company's Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screeningAble to prioritize work schedule; Demonstrates some ability to work independentlyAbility to support others in completing assigned tasksFollows policies and proceduresAbility to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed)Ability to work overtime as business needs require

Preferred: 

Experience driving/executing quality procedures for a ISO9001 or similar process, for a manufacturing environmentWorked in a manufacturing environmentExperience in seed productionComputer skills/SAP experienceCompetent performing basic data analysis and root cause analysisBachelor's degree
