We have an opening for a Junior Mechanical Designer in the building services market sector.

Drafting HVAC, plumbing and sanitary system designs with the support of mechanical designers.

The position requires Revit experience. Previous AutoCAD experience and knowledge of the Ontario Building Code is an asset. Previous eQuest experience would also be valued.

Description of Duties:

You will work alongside electrical and mechanical designers and engineers and be responsible for drafting/modelling development, system specifications, and construction support of projects in the mechanical field. You may also be involved in energy efficiency analysis, creating or editing building energy models with support from senior staff. You may also assist with technical report writing on occasion.

Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural and electrical systems.

Compensation commensurate with the applicant's prior experience and education. Approximate starting salary range is $50-54k/year. We are looking for candidates with a College diploma in a related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar).

Other Expectations:

  • Previous experience in mechanical building services design including HVAC, plumbing, and sanitary is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Revit.
  • 40 hours per week with overtime to meet specific deliverable commitments from time to time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to convey clear and unambiguous design information.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and cordial manner.
  • Only candidates with a College diploma will be considered.
