The Winter Zone Foreperson is an on-call seasonal leadership role responsible for managing winter operations within an assigned zone and assisting with clearing other zones of snow.
MUST HAVE: Valid G license and reliable transportation, and 24/7 availability for nights/weekends/holidays.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Winter Zone Foreperson ensures all crews get called out as needed, equipment is managed efficiently, properties get cleared within time frames as per CCG standards, and equipment and client site damage are reported promptly. This role acts as a bridge between field teams, customers, and the office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise plow operators, salt truck drivers, sidewalk crews, and subcontractors.
- Document incidents, hazards, and property damage promptly
- Oversee proper use and care of plows, salters, skid steers, and other equipment.
- Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections, completing checklists each shift.
- Monitor salt usage to meet service needs without waste.
- Keep accurate route logs, crew attendance, and time tracking.
- Record service verification (include before and after photos)
- Ensure CMS entries for property damage, equipment breakdowns, and SOS requests are complete and timely.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years in snow removal operations with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plowing, salting, and winter safety.
- Ability to operate trucks, loaders, skid steers, and salters.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Effective leadership, organization, and communication skills under pressure.
- Valid G license, reliable transportation, and 24/7 availability for nights/weekends/holidays.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in severe winter conditions.
- Personal mobile device with a data plan (500MB monthly) for communication and using our work apps.
Work Environment
- Outdoor, physical work in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with potential for long shifts during heavy snowfalls.
