Job Description
What is the Opportunity?
As part of the Corporate Treasury Performance Management team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, in-depth and timely management reporting for Corporate Treasury, including planning & forecasting and decision support for the HQLA Securities portfolio and the Subsidiary Funding structures.
Corporate Treasury is responsible for management of enterprise-wide capital, liquidity, non-trading interest rate risk assets, and execution of term funding, capital, and interest rate risk hedging transactions. The group also oversees capital investments and funding in subsidiaries, as well as local treasury activities in selected jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to Corporate Treasury activities, build a strong understanding of liquidity risk management, along with how funding is moved across the enterprise in a tax efficient manner, and be exposed to many key stakeholders and subject matter experts in the space.
What will you do?
- Proactively provide expert analysis to Corporate Treasury and Finance VPs, Managing Directors and their teams through reporting and analytical insights, for both month-end reporting and forecast cycles, including Plan and the 5-year outlook
- Specifically responsible for HQLA Securities portfolio and the Subsidiary Funding results, as well as managing communications and messaging with head office for consolidated Corporate Treasury PnL Estimates and Stress Testing.
- Securities: Demonstrate strong understanding of types of HQLA securities (attributes, valuations, how to model P&L performance, implication of portfolio changes)
- Subsidiary Funding: strong understanding of complex subsidiary funding structures. Ability to advise on funding flows and associated P&L and management tax impacts.
- Manage overall Corporate Treasury NIAT estimate process, balancing deliverables for several stakeholders
- Responsible for end-to-end Stress Testing related activities, including documentation of results, supporting enterprise PM and GRM requests, and providing the required analysis.
- Lead month end reporting activities, including presenting to stakeholders (such as CT and Finance VPs) in pre-close meetings, OC and other relevant meetings.
- Work closely with Financial Control, Product Control and Hedge Accounting team to understand, analyze and report on Corporate Treasury monthly results
- Anticipate and be able to address/ answer questions associated with the Securities and Foreign Operations portfolios from finance counterparts and senior management.
- Streamline current processes through identifying opportunities for time savings and reporting enhancements
- Support internal audit reviews, including sharing documentation, process flows and approvals as required
Must have:
- CFA or MFin/MBA or CPA
- 5+ years' experience in a finance / reporting environment
- Strong overall understanding of RBC and Corporate Treasury business activities
- Strong Excel financial modelling skills and Powerpoint
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
- High degree of initiative and solution-based attitude
