Project Lead

Taylor Architecture Group (TAG) has an opening in our Yellowknife office for a
Project Lead
with a focus on Housing Innovation.
TAG was founded in Yellowknife over 40 years ago to provide specialized architectural services for northern and remote communities. Since that time, the firm has grown to include several teams of licensed architects working alongside interior designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and a dedicated research team.
Since 2022, TAG's research team has been exploring a variety of challenges and solutions related to northern housing issues. This work has been multidisciplinary, addressing technical design solutions, the regulatory and legal context, housing policy, funding frameworks, and training/employment pathways in the construction sector. As the work continues to build momentum, we are looking to expand our research team with the addition of a creative and enterprising Project Lead who will manage involvements relating to housing R&D.
The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, driven, curious, and socially conscious. This position could be served by a wide range of relevant experience. At minimum, the candidate should be comfortable with project management and be familiar with housing delivery, planning, design, policy, business administration, or facilitation – particularly in northern and Indigenous contexts.
The successful candidate will join an established team and will have opportunities for professional development, while contributing management skills to support the success of ongoing projects. This person should be enthusiastic about teamwork and be able foster positive relations with client groups, while bringing relevant competencies to the research team.
TAG's projects are located in communities across the three northern territories. Travel on small aircraft and remote winter roads will be a requirement of the position.

· Support clients and the research team in developing mid- to large-scale funding proposals for ongoing and future projects, including budget, work plan, team composition, and project narrative.
· Contribute to the successful implementation of ongoing and future projects by maintaining and administering established budgets, schedules, deliverables and overall intent
· Prepare project reporting, which may include technical documentation, financial reports, progress reports, or public-facing documents
· Develop communications about findings and outcomes, for example through project summaries and plain-language narratives, graphics and visuals, or public presentations
· Organize and facilitate project meetings, workshops or events, as appropriate
· Travel to remote communities in the arctic and sub-arctic for the purpose of meeting with partners, gathering information, and sharing findings. Candidates should be comfortable traveling in small airplanes and working in cross-cultural environments.
