We are seeking a
Lead Developer / Team Lead - Senior Java Developer
to join ActiVia Networks Canada, Inc., a STRATACACHE company based in Montreal.

Our team builds and maintains the digital menu management tool used by major quick-service restaurant chains.

Our goal: every restaurant screen shows the right content, at the right time — and never goes black.

You'll join a small, tight-knit team (5–6 people) where we code, collaborate, and solve real challenges.

As a technical lead who still loves to code (around 70% dev, 30% leadership), you'll guide the team, shape our architecture, and help keep things running smoothly for thousands of locations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support your team of backend, frontend, and QA developers
  • Design, build, and improve our Java/Spring platform and contract-first APIs
  • Take part in architecture discussions and code reviews
  • Ensure reliability and data validation — no dark screens allowed
  • Work closely with Product, QA, and Operations
  • Share knowledge, documentation, and good practices across the team

Qualifications
What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of backend Java experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior technical role
  • Strong skills in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and SQL (PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB)
  • Familiar with Elasticsearch and Docker
  • Natural leadership, autonomy, and ownership of the product
  • Bilingual (French/English) — you'll collaborate with Operations too
