CNC Machinist Mill and Lathe - Setup / Operators

Manufacturing / Production Environment

Hiring 2x for Straight Days, 1x for Straight Afternoons

Day shift. 5days

  • Monday to Friday (44hrs per week)
  • Mon-Thur - 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

Afternoon shift. 4 days

  • Monday to Thursday (44hrs per week)
  • Mon-Thur - 4:00pm - 3:00am

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Operate a CNC mill (Mazak and Fanuc Controls)
  • Know how to check dimensions with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers and bore gauges.
  • Read blueprints and use measuring instruments as required
  • Scan and log activities such as dimensions, quantities complete etc
  • Must have good communication and good math skills
  • Must have excellent attendances and punctuality

Additional requirements For Setup Candidates:

  • 2yrs Experience in setting up and running CNC milling machines is preferred
  • Must be able to take tooling and parts, transfer a program, set up the machine, prove the program if necessary and instruct other associates how to run the machine after it is set up.
  • Must be able to read setup sheets, perform first run and obtain first off
  • Must be able to make corrections and adjust tool comp as required
  • Rate is negotiable based on ability.

Preference give to candidates with the following:

  • 2 yrs of on the job and relevant machine shop mill setup experience
  • has some of their own tooling
  • interested in pursuing an apprenticeship
