We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our waste management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating vehicles to transport and pick up materials across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent service standards.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks and heavy equipment to transport and materials to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operational readiness.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Class 1 license considered an asset.
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts.
- Ability to operate automotive repair tools for minor repairs or troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment and freight handling.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Prior experience with automotive repair or maintenance is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, reliability, and professionalism are valued highly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
