Our cutting-edge technologies and solutions are trusted by military and commercial customers worldwide. We are currently seeking a Document Control Specialist to join our team in Ottawa. 

What will you be doing? 

  • As the Document Control Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all internal and customer-facing technical documentation across the company. You will lead the standardization, configuration control, and lifecycle management of technical publications in accordance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 requirements. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide documentation standards, templates, and style guides for technical publications. 
  • Manage the document control process for technical manuals, service bulletins, test procedures, and internal procedures under formal configuration management. 
  • Coordinate and perform low to mid-level document changes, including editorial, formatting, and revision control updates. 
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, field services, business development, and project management teams to ensure documentation accuracy, configuration alignment, and version traceability. 
  • Oversee document release authorization and maintain records in accordance with configuration control policies. 
  • Support preparation and submission of customer deliverables, ensuring documents meet contract and regulatory requirements. 
  • Administer and maintain document control systems (e.g., SharePoint) to ensure accessibility, security, and compliance. 
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining records, revision logs, and master documentation lists. 
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on documentation best practices and controlled document processes. 

What do we need from you? 

  • Prior experience in technical documentation, configuration management, or document control within the aerospace, defense, or other regulated industry. 
  • Strong understanding of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 documentation and records management requirements. 
  • Demonstrated experience standardizing document formats, styles, and templates. 
  • Hands-on experience with document control tools such as SharePoint or similar systems. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional; familiarity with structured authoring or XML-based systems is an asset. 
  • Ability to interpret and apply configuration management principles to technical publications. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and project management teams. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, process discipline, and organizational skills. 
  • Experience supporting audits or managing controlled documentation ideally in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment would be an asset.
