Vancouver Island Regional Library is seeking a Coordinator, People & Culture to join our People & Culture team. This role provides key administrative, coordination, and systems support across recruitment, onboarding, training, HRIS, and day-to-day People & Culture operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys supporting people, processes, and systems in a collaborative, unionized public-sector environment.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for unionized and exempt positions
  • Prepare job postings, support interviews, conduct reference checks, and prepare offer letters
  • Coordinate orientation, training, and professional development activities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the HRIS, maintaining accurate data and running reports
  • Support benefits administration, employee records, and People & Culture intranet content
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across People & Culture programs and processes

What you bring

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant administrative or coordination experience (unionized environment preferred)
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Pay: $60,260.00-$75,330.00 per year
