Vancouver Island Regional Library is seeking a Coordinator, People & Culture to join our People & Culture team. This role provides key administrative, coordination, and systems support across recruitment, onboarding, training, HRIS, and day-to-day People & Culture operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys supporting people, processes, and systems in a collaborative, unionized public-sector environment.
What you'll do
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for unionized and exempt positions
- Prepare job postings, support interviews, conduct reference checks, and prepare offer letters
- Coordinate orientation, training, and professional development activities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the HRIS, maintaining accurate data and running reports
- Support benefits administration, employee records, and People & Culture intranet content
- Contribute to continuous improvement across People & Culture programs and processes
What you bring
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant administrative or coordination experience (unionized environment preferred)
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
