We're also the creators of Hammer & Anvil
, an immersive storytelling company producing shared 360° and VR experiences for museums, science centres, and cultural institutions. This role will support work across both Skylight Productions and Hammer & Anvil.

The Role

We're looking for a Video Producer to join our team. This role goes beyond editing alone and is designed to grow over time.

You'll be responsible for editing projects, leading production days with solo or small crews, contributing to creative development, and working directly with clients. With mentorship and support, this role will evolve into one with real ownership over projects—from concept through delivery.

Key Responsibilities


• Edit video projects for Skylight Productions and Hammer & Anvil


• Assist with and increasingly lead video shoots days


• Contribute to creative concepts and storytelling approaches


• Collaborate directly with clients during production and post-production


• Support motion design and visual effects work as needed


• Learn and work within 360° and immersive video workflows (training provided)

Required Skills & Experience


• Strong video editing experience in Davinci Resolve


• Experience with After Effects; motion design experience is a strong asset


• On-set filming experience with a focus on creative and professional cinematography


• Experience with standard video lighting and grip equipment


• Familiarity with Blackmagic Design camera workflows an asset, but not a necessity


• Strong communication skills and comfort working with clients


• A strong, varied demo reel
showcasing your work

Formal education is not required. We place far more value on your reel and real-world experience. If you do not currently have a solid body of work to show, this role is likely not the right fit.

• Experience with 360° video or immersive media


• Interest in emerging storytelling formats and new technologies


• Comfort juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, creative environment

Work Environment & Schedule


• Hybrid role: typically 2 days per week in our Kitchener office

• Production days are mostly within Ontario, with the occasional shoot across Canada or worldwide
