Telecom Specialist – Panasonic PBX / VoIP

Overview

IDS | Beyond Technology is seeking a Telecom Specialist with strong hands-on experience supporting Panasonic PBX systems. This role focuses on installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining business phone systems, VoIP applications, and structured cabling for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and support Panasonic PBX systems, including:
  • KX-TDA / KX-TDE
  • KX-NS700 / KX-NS1000
  • KX-NSX2000 (hybrid & IP platforms)
  • Perform moves, adds, and changes (extensions, voicemail, auto-attendants, call routing).
  • Troubleshoot call quality, SIP, handset, and connectivity issues.
  • Support VoIP applications, SIP trunks, IP phones, and softphones.
  • Configure and support networking for VoIP, including:
  • PoE switches
  • VLANs and Voice VLANs
  • QoS for voice traffic
  • Run, terminate, test, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling for voice and data.
  • Install handsets, patch panels, wall jacks, racks, and telecom hardware.
  • Provide on-site, remote, and phone-based support to clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years supporting business telecom or PBX systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Panasonic PBX platforms listed above.
  • Experience with VoIP and SIP-based systems.
  • Practical networking knowledge related to VoIP
  • Experience running and terminating structured cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Nortel and/or Mitel systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge (PoE switches, VLANs, QoS).
  • Firewall or router exposure related to VoIP
  • MSP or field-service experience.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in ceilings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Schedule & Benefits

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
