We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Service Journeyman to join our team. As an HVAC Service Journeyman, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential customers. Your expertise in HVAC service and your ability to troubleshoot complex issues will ensure efficient and effective solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and replacing filters, lubricating components, and checking system performance.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or wiring in HVAC systems, including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, valves, and controls.
  • Test HVAC systems for proper operation after repairs or maintenance work is completed.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and timeframes for repairs or replacements.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their HVAC service needs and address their concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain the diagnosis and recommended solutions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and follow all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of service visits, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Valid HVAC Service Journeyman license/certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including their components, operation, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and refrigeration principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications or licenses related to HVAC services or specialties.
  • Experience with a variety of HVAC systems, including residential and commercial units.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient and environmentally friendly HVAC technologies.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems.

Benefits & Pay

  • The pay range for this position is $35 to $60 and depends on your experience and knowledge as an HVAC service journeyman.
