Overview

As a Data Analyst, you will be part of the Market Intelligence team and responsible for maintaining, validating, manipulating, and analyzing data and data processes within our Avison Young Technology platforms. This includes the management of real estate data, as well as real estate adjacent data. Position entails daily and weekly data tasks, data sprints that support regional teams, as well as national product goals, in addition to longer term projects aimed at enhancing the platform through data. The technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing you provide to the Marke Intelligence team will enable the group to provide data-driven decisions to internal and external stakeholders.

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $50,000 to $55,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

*This contract role will cover an 12-month maternity leave*



Responsibilities

  • Regularly inputting data into our proprietary database and analytics platform. This includes lease and sales availabilities, lease comps, sales comps, company data and more.
  • Reviewing ThoughtSpot dashboards and Availability Manager daily and ensure that core real estate data recently added to platform including properties, images, documents, companies, leases, sales and availabilities appear complete, consistent, high quality and are displaying correctly.
  • Actively monitor and track the real estate market for relevant data which includes new developments, deals, availabilities, tenant activity, trends and infrastructure projects that will be used to provide market intelligence.
  • Conduct a variety of advanced searches (availability, vacancy/sale, tenant information, transaction information, title information, zoning/planning restrictions, demographics, etc.) utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Reading, abstracting and adding data from industry specific websites, newsletters and publications and company and investor websites, newsletters, public filings and investor presentations
  • Updating status of properties under construction and enhancing data on property, tenants and ownership
  • Adding/updating data on platform utilizing publications, public filings, public records and third-party data providers
  • Execute and optimize SQL queries within Snowflake to validate data accuracy and ensure alignment with business logic and reporting requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1+ year experience in commercial real estate or real estate course work preferred
  • Passionate about cities and real estate
  • Must be able to handle flexibility in task management while having a keen eye for detail 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and transformation, and Python for data manipulation, automation, is preferred
