The Position

Western Archrib is looking for a dynamic individual for the position of a Quality Control Technician. This position will require about 2 months of training based at our Edmonton facility. The successful candidate will then transition to a full-time role at our Sturgeon County facility near Fort Saskatchewan and will report directly to the Head of Quality Control.

About the position

Working at Western Archrib, the successful candidate for this full-time position will have a high standard of work ethic, attention to detail, motivated to work at a high level of quality, and ability to work well within a team environment. Valuable assets to this position will include a focus on technical and analytical work. Must operate within established systems, standards, and procedures. Communicates based on existing and specialized job expertise.

Duties:

· Performance of all quality control test procedures and inspections to meet the requirements of Western Archrib Plant Standards, CSA, ANSI, and JAS.

· Review for conformance, record and file all quality control documentation.

· Identify and inform the Head of Quality Control immediately about non-conformance tests or observations

· Calibration of testing equipment as per requirements of all standards.

· Preparation of specimens

· Meet weekly with the Head of Quality Control to discuss all issues that have occurred and to prepare for upcoming production challenges

· Maintain a list of issues until achievable resolutions are found

· Support the Head of Quality Control in managing and coordinating the maintenance and storage of Quality Control records

Preferred Requirements:

· Motivated with excellent time management & problem-solving abilities

· Team player with strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills

· Attention to detail, strong organizational and planning skills

· Ability to multitask in and organized manor

· Candidates must be physically fit and able to lift to a maximum of 50lbs.

· Candidates must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to work 40 hours a week.

· Standard CSA approved Steel toed boots are required, we will provide safety glasses, work gloves, and reflective vests

· WHMIS 2015 – Will train onsite

· First aid training is an asset to this position but not a requirement

Work Location:

· Ave, Edmonton AB and 312 Park Rd, Sturgeon County AB

Work Schedule:

· Standard work schedule will be Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:00pm

Compensation:

· Wage will start at $23 hr based on level of experience
