RECE Toddler Lead Teacher

Private school in Vaughan seeking a full-time Toddler lead teacher to begin immediately. The hours would be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. A Toddler teacher is responsible for a group of 15 children and leads two educational assistants in a balanced program, focused on academics and arts.

Candidates are required to:

  • be a registered ECE

  • have a valid vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 6 months

  • valid first aid and CPR certificate

  • have a negative Two-step TB test

  • have an up-to-date immunization record

Successful candidates will be able to:

  • utilize the ELECT document and apply it to a daily routine that includes both academic concepts and an emergent curriculum.

  • have experience as a lead teacher in a toddler setting.

  • be a warm and caring individual, who is passionate about education.

  • work in a team-oriented environment.

  • be able to communicate with parents about their children's needs.

  • have strong classroom management skills.

  • be able to write a monthly newsletter and curriculum for the parents

  • have knowledge of an emergent curriculum and some phonics and Montessori philosophy
