Construction Engineering Services and Equipment Procurement Specialist

Work Location: Calgary, AB, Red Deer, AB or Corunna, ON

This role is accountable for both contract formation/administration along with engineering services and equipment procurement for major capital projects. This role will manage the full procurement lifecycle for services and equipment, ensuring compliance, value, and risk mitigation across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:


•Lead the Bid, Evaluate, and Award (BEA) cycle for both service and equipment contracts.


•Draft, negotiate, and administer contracts, change orders, and interagency agreements.


•Develop and execute contract and procurement strategies, including market assessments and acquisition plans for equipment and services.


•Facilitate RFPs, Invitations to Bid, and direct negotiations for equipment purchases.


•Collaborate with Legal, Engineering, Project Controls, and other stakeholders to resolve contract and procurement issues.


•Review and approve invoices, ensuring compliance with contract terms for both services and equipment.


•Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews and issue resolution.


•Participate in project meetings, providing procurement expertise and documentation.


•Maintain change order logs and support evaluation of change requests.


•Mentor junior procurement staff as required.


•Support project close-out and documentation for all procurement activities.

Qualifications:


•University degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management (preferred).


•7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in equipment purchasing and contract formation for capital projects.


•Professional certification (e.g., SCMP, CPSM) is an asset.


•Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and equipment sourcing.


•Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.


•Proficiency in SAP/Ariba, Icertis and Microsoft Office Suite.


•Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.


•Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Additional Information:


•This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays.
