Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 1-2 days a week for an 8:30-5 schedule.

About this Role: Drive strategic growth through data-driven pricing analytics. As a Pricing Planner, you'll lead the development and execution of pricing strategies, and leverage data analytics to drive sales and profitability. Your expertise in retail merchandising and customer experience will be essential in creating effective plans that resonate with our target audience.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Campaign Oversight: Plan and oversee the development of price index strategies. Manage a price index by sub-department, leveraging pricing trends by category and season for deeper insights.
  • Optimize Recommendations: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide recommendations on pricing strategies to grow margin and influence price perception.
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain and manage pricing financial reports, ensuring strategic and operational alignment. Work closely with Nielsen and Engage3 to provide reports and insights to our Category Team. Track the price index using Nielsen data based on market position.
  • Project Management: Manage pricing projects or strategic initiatives to drive business growth.

What You'll Bring:

  • Educational Background: Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Pricing Analytics: Experience in customer Pricing analytics, including structure development, and measurement.
  • Data and Analytics: Proficient in leveraging data and advanced predictive analytical techniques (data mining, advanced modeling, statistics).
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey analytics findings and business opportunities to diverse audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with various BI tools.
  • Merchant Experience: Experience in retail buying, merchandising, or assortment planning.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in retail and/or grocery is considered an asset.
