The role, North America Client Coordinator reports into the AVP, Multinational Client Executive who is located in the Toronto office. Job duties and responsibility tasks mirror those of the client executive role, but accounts assigned will be less complex until expertise is validated. The Canada IO/PO team is closely aligned for management and meetings with the US IO team.The Multinational North American Issuing Office receives quoting and policy issuance instructions from locations outside of Canada in order to insure local entities of foreign parent companies. We execute local policies and service internal as well as external stakeholders across a broad scope of products – Property, Casualty, Professional Lines, and Marine. This position requires a significant amount of interaction with internal stakeholders, such as Product, Legal, Finance, as well as external brokers and fronting partners.Multinational Producing facets include the support compliant handling of foreign local policies throughout the pre-bind and post-bind process including policy issuance, invoicing, reinsurance, endorsements and renewal preparation activities. The candidate will interact with various departments on a regular basis and assist in department projects implementing best practices in compliant handling of foreign local placements. Key requirements of the position include excellent organizational and communication skills and familiarity with multinational accounts.This role will also be key in delivering exceptional servicing across multiple lines of business for cross-border (US PO –>CAN IO or CAN PO->US IO)Role And ResponsibilitiesIssuing Office Activities:Ownership of pre-bind and post-bind processes for multinational business pertaining to Issuing Office activities.Assists in the document management and recording of multinational transactions to ensure consistent policies and procedures are followed for consistent handling of global business.Liaise with local and foreign Underwriters and Producing Office teams to ensure adequate and compliant pricing for Canadian risks across the relevant lines of business.Execute the issuance of local policy and invoice documentation.Communicate with local Canadian brokers on account-bearing matters including but not limited to pre-bind activities, expectation settings on deliverables, as well as status updates to ensure alignment and a high level of overall account servicing.Work with internal Finance and Collection teams to ensure premium flow – resolving discrepancies between expected and remitted premium. Keep stakeholders updated on uncollected premium and escalate where appropriate.Liaise with local Regulatory and Product teams to ensure the Issuing Office is concurrent with form alignment and changes in risk requirements or coverage details.Participate in account specific meetings with Producing Office and UW teams to ensure optimal workflow.Other similar duties as assigned which are required in support of company and department objectives.Producing Office ActivitiesOwnership of pre-bind and post-bind processes for multinational business:i. policy quote and issuance process including Sompo Multinational Platform (SMP) entriesii. invoicing needs around fees or central collectioniii. reinsurance slip chasing, system entriesiv. endorsement processingv. pre-renewal tasks as assignedAssists in the document management and recording of multinational transactions to ensure consistent policies and procedures are followed for consistent handling of global business.Develop and maintain working relationships with SI Overseas offices, SJI and other fronting partners to facilitate processes in support of multinational policy issuance and tracking of all foreign local policy placements. Basic understanding of each office's system and their ability to support our data need requests. You must also be able to understand and comply with local rules and regulations to assist with compliant data handling.Assist with cross-functional department relationships: finance, reinsurance and operations (including IT) to support MBU business needs. Interacts with other departments as needed to handle business needs (product development, legal or others).Other similar duties as assigned which are required in support of company and department objectives.Qualifications And Education RequirementsBachelor's Degree preferredCommercial insurance experience required5+ years of UW Support experience required including 2+ years MULTINATIONAL account handling.This job description outlines the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
