Job Description: Part-Time Arena Attendant
Location: North Nisku, brand new twin hockey arena Silent Ice Center
Job Category: Operations
Reports to: Facility Manager
Rate: $18-$22 per hour, approximately 20 hours (up to 40 hours) per week.
General Summary: This position will be responsible for supporting the initiatives, vision, and execution of various arena operational plans on behalf of Frozen Dreams Properties. Under the direction of facility management, this role is intended to support the day-to-day activities by creating an incredible first impression of our facility by contributing to a clean, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Clean all public areas according to the daily schedules and instruction provided by senior arena staff. Cleaning duties to include but not be limited to sweeping, mopping, glass cleaning, cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, toilets, urinals, showers, garbage removal, etc.
- Tidy dressing rooms between user groups.
- Perform a variety of maintenance & repairs on and around the rinks.
- Assist with Special Events conversions.
- Do minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment.
- Maintain grounds as required through snow removal, mowing, weed trimming.
- Provide ice flood support by moving nets, shoveling snow at the gate, maintaining a clear snow pit.
- Extra disinfecting of public spaces and touch points in accordance with Covid-19 protocols and best practices.
- Special projects as required may include, but not be limited to graffiti removal, and painting.
- Complete all log reports as required.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Experience and Skills
- Completion of high school.
- Team Player.
- Able and willing to follow instructions.
- Emergency First Aid, AED, and CPR an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong level of initiative required.
- Must be able to work for extended hours under strenuous physical conditions with heavy lifting (50+ pounds) when required for Special Event conversions.
- Must be available for shift work, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have own transportation as public transit doesn't have access to our location.
