Operations Intern P&H MillingP&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, and semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chapati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries. Internship Overview As an Operations Intern at P&H Milling, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of flour milling. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with our operations team and gain insights into the entire milling process, from grain intake to flour packaging
Location: Halifax, NS
Term: May 5, 2026 – August 29, 2026
Compensation: This internship is a paid position. Your Day to Day
  • Assist mill operators in the daily operations of the flour mill.
  • Learn and understand the milling process from grain intake to flour packaging.
  • Monitor machinery and equipment performance under supervision.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on mill equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
What You'll Learn
  • Gain insights into the principles of milling technology, equipment operation, and the factors influencing flour quality.
  • Experience in managing grain storage facilities, understanding grain characteristics, and ensuring optimal conditions for grain milling.
  • Develop skills in data analysis, project management, and communication.
  • Receive mentorship from industry experts and professionals in the field.
What We're Looking For:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Milling Technology, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in the food processing industry, particularly in flour milling.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full-time availability for a 4-month term, May – Aug 2026
