Description -

Join HP as a Large Format Print Service Field Technician and become a key player in delivering exceptional customer experiences for our enterprise clients. In this dynamic field role, you'll specialize in the installation, technical support, and servicing of HP's large format printing solutions, supporting customers throughout their journey—from pre-sales consultation to post-sales maintenance and ongoing service delivery.

This position is a fixed, 5-year contract with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment after the term.

What You'll Do:

  • Color Management and image workflow: experience in preparing files for print, sending files to printers (RIP Software such as Onyx or Caldera), understanding and working with colour management fundamentals.

  • Champion the Customer Experience: Guide customers through installation and onboarding of large format print equipment, providing site-specific insights and ensuring a smooth transition.

  • Resolve with Impact: Address technical and relationship challenges promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Deliver Tailored Solutions: Support large and complex accounts with customized software and service strategies for HP's large format print systems.

  • Lead Onsite Support: Provide hands-on assistance for break-fix issues, mentor third-party service providers, and manage escalations related to large format printers.

  • Proactively Prevent Issues: Use monitoring tools and data insights to anticipate problems and enhance service outcomes for print solutions.

  • Drive Technical Excellence: Apply deep technical knowledge of large format print technology to resolve advanced issues and recommend innovative improvements.

  • Mentor & Collaborate: Support team development, coordinate departmental efforts, and foster strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Improve Continuously: Identify process gaps, recommend enhancements, and ensure compliance with business controls and safety standards.

  • Install & Educate: Set up new large format print equipment at customer sites and provide hands-on training to ensure users are confident and capable in operating their systems.

  • Embrace Teamwork: Thrive in a team-oriented environment where collaboration, communication, and a shared mindset are essential to success.

  • Apply Technical Expertise: Leverage your background in electrical systems, hardware installation, and troubleshooting to resolve complex technical issues and ensure optimal equipment performance.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in customer support, field service, or technical roles—preferably with HP large format print products or enterprise printing systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of electronics, electromechanics, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and technical support for large format printers.

  • Familiarity with automation tools, test equipment, operating systems, and field service management platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience in color management and image workflow, including preparing files for print, sending files to printers using RIP software (such as Onyx or Caldera), and applying color management principles to ensure accurate and consistent print results.

Compensation and Benefits
The typical base pay range for this role is $24 to $35 CAD hourly. Pay within this range will be based on the review of experience, skills, and internal equity. You will not be eligible to participate in HP's group benefit programs, including health, dental, or other extended benefits. During your employment term, you will receive vacation pay in accordance with employment standards legislation and will be covered under applicable provincial workplace safety insurance programs.

As an employee of HP Canada, you will be eligible to participate in the company's group benefit programs, including medical, dental, life insurance, and disability coverage, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. During your employment term, you will receive 15 paid vacation days per year prorated based on your start date. Detailed information regarding benefits—will be provided upon hire and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.

Work location being Toronto, ON and working hours could vary to ensure excellent customer and partner support for all time zones in Canada.
