Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Laser Setup/Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with laser machinery, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate laser equipment and ensure all safety features and emergency stop systems are understood and used
• Set up laser cutting machines as per job requirements
• Troubleshoot and maintain laser equipment during production
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to ensure job accuracy
• Perform quality checks to confirm part conformance to specifications
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laser work area
• Support production flow and collaborate with team members
• Follow all health and safety protocols and workplace procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with JGW's Code of Business Conduct and Confidentiality Policy

Skill Factors:

• Experience operating and troubleshooting laser equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Proficiency in using measuring devices for part inspection
• Strong hand-eye coordination and efficiency in production tasks
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Effort Factors:

• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
• Repetitive lifting and manual tasks
• Prolonged standing with finger dexterity and fine motor control
• Ability to work rotating shifts or alternate shifts as required
• Occasional exposure to warm conditions during summer months

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in laser machine operation preferred
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards is an asset

Shift Details:

This is a full-time position. Hours and schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

Location:

This position is located in Princeton, Ontario, just 25 minutes from Kitchener/Cambridge and 10 minutes from Brantford.
