Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our retail team. This role involves engaging with customers, demonstrating product features, and ensuring an organized and welcoming shopping environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of organization, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in technology sales or merchandising are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales performance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance shopping experience
• Assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrations, and technical explanations
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits effectively
• Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
• Upsell products and suggest complementary items to increase sales opportunities
• Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are well-stocked and properly labeled
• Operate cash registers efficiently while adhering to company policies on cashiering and cash handling
• Support inventory management through merchandising, stock replenishment, and organization of the sales floor
• Communicate product features clearly in English or bilingual settings, ensuring customer understanding
• Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
• Manage time effectively to balance customer service with operational tasks

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail sales, merchandising, or customer service preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus
• Knowledge of POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic math for transactions
• Ability to demonstrate products confidently during demos and technical sales pitches
• Excellent organizational skills for maintaining displays and inventory levels
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
• Professional phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries via phone or in person
• Ability to upsell products tactfully while focusing on customer needs
• Basic understanding of retail operations including cash handling and sales processes
• Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
