Description:

Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to work during the week at a trucking scaling facility that deals with animal products.

Please Note:

  • The location of this position is in Dundas, Ontario, not Dundas, Toronto.
  • All candidates must have access to their own vehicle as this location does not have a bus route.

Shifts:

Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:

Monday to Friday from 10 pm to 6 am (40 hours per week)

  • No weekends
  • 40 hours per week
  • Night shift

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily focused on scaling trucks that carry animal product.
  • Record the applicable data on the established computer system as each truck arrives.
  • Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
  • Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
  • Access control for the facility/area.
  • Ensuring that the facility's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
  • Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
  • Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
  • Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
  • Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
  • Integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
