Regional Online Learning Facilitator
Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent, part-time (6.5 hours daily) Regional Online Learning Facilitator (ROLF) The position will be located in Moose Jaw and commence on November 10, 2025.
Regional Online Learning Facilitators (ROLFs) will be responsible for supporting students to obtain a quality online educational experience. Regional Online Learning Facilitators (ROLFs) play a vital role in supporting and facilitating student success across both full-time and part-time programs who do not fit in the SST or EA supported area. Their work relies heavily on collaboration and facilitation with teachers, school administrators, and parents/guardians. By maintaining open communication and strong relationships, ROLFs ensure that students receive consistent guidance to further their learning.
Focused on delivering quality online educational experience, this position requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, considerable experience in relevant technology, understanding of the challenges of online learning, and the ability to work independently with respect to carrying out the duties assigned in a challenging and fast paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative and Student Caseload Support
- Seeks support when needed (school staff) and advocate for students.
- Follow school-based administrator's expectations for creating DLCgo accounts/new applications, requesting courses, approving course request, course selections, drops, etc.
- Keep accurate and timely documentation - student records organized/filed (i.e. files for students, timelines, marked assignments/exams, progress reports, communications, etc.)
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and parents/guardians to encourage supportive learning habits.
- Address attendance issues, mentor support, and scheduling needs.
Supporting Learning
- Work as a collaborative team member that may include Online Teachers, online Learning Facilitators, Student Support Teachers, School-Based Administrators, Campus Principals or Support Staff.
- Supervise and demonstrate knowledge and application of diverse learning supports to meet student academic needs (i.e. clarify directions, read questions/assignments, etc.); direct them to other supports when applicable (Sask DLC teacher, admin, etc.).
- Demonstrate an ability to adapt to the changing needs of students.
- Display a willingness to learn new skills and strategies to effectively support students.
- Provide individualized support via scheduled Teams meetings focused on:
- Academic organization& time management
- Learning strategies
- Encouragement, relationship-building, and motivation
- Coordinate exam schedules and proctor exams in-person or virtually, ensuring compliance with academic integrity protocols; secure appropriate, distraction-free testing environments.
Supporting Pace and Progress
- Update student pace/progress tool (i.e. calendar on whiteboard, Excel document)
- Monitor pace/progress/success (i.e. check Moodle logs, check grades, talk with students, talk with teachers, upcoming due dates, use auto-forwards from Moodle, etc.)
- Develop student profiles based on information gathered regarding completion of assignments and learning context of student.
- Provide monthly reports to Sask DLC Campus Principal (leveling reports, attendance, etc.)
- Share feedback and updates with Sask DLC teachers and Academic Advisors (AA) to facilitate a collaborative, team-based approach.
Work-Based Placement Supervision and Coordination
- Collaborate with the PAA Program Coordinator to set up students' work-based placements; travel to placement locations and supervise as required.
- Conduct safety assessments prior to placements.
- Arrange customized schedules with input from students, parents/guardians, and employers.
- Provide supervision and maintain ongoing communication with Student, parent/guardian, and employers regarding scheduling changes.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress at the work-based placement and provide regular reports to the PAA Program Coordinator.
Required Technical/Qualifications
- Work independently in an online or in-person delivery model.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to establish rapport with students.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the successful completion of an Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma in combination with work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Advanced computer skills and experience using a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and proficiently complete multiple tasks while dealing with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
- An energetic team player whom tactfully and respectfully supports students and colleagues to promote a positive work environment.
Working Conditions
- Positions are in Sask DLC Campuses throughout the province.
- Hours of Work – dependent on location and student enrolment.
- Travel as required.

What we offer: Salary (Level 4 $24.45/hr. to $27.23/hr.) and benefits for this position will be in accordance with C.U.P.E. 5544 Collective Agreement September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2027
