Position Information:

Durham College is seeking qualified and
passionate Online Course Facilitators to support the delivery of asynchronous
courses within the Social Service Worker (SSW) program offered through
Professional and Part Time Learning.

This role is ideal for professionals
with subject matter expertise in social services who are committed to student
success in a flexible, online learning environment.

This position reports to the Academic Manager, Healthcare and Community Services Programs, Professional & Part-Time Learning.

note for Part-Time Facilitator applicants:
Part-time recruitment is ongoing and is
dependent on when courses are being taught and the need for faculty to teach.
Part-Time Facilitators teach up to 6 hours per week. For more information about

 The responsibilities of Durham College Part-time Facilitators include, but are not limited to: 

Create a positive online learning environment that supports students' diverse educational backgrounds and experiences
Apply principles of adult education to engage students with course content and activities.
Use online and educational technologies to support learning, communicate with students, mark assessments, and post grades.
Facilitate the delivery of curriculum using appropriate strategies and tools to assess student learning.
Ensure that existing course content is accurate, current, and relevant.
Work independently and demonstrate initiative in managing course facilitation.
Collaborate effectively with students, program teams, and internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:

Minimum of five years of recent social work experience.
Strong understanding of the scope of practice for Social Service Work.
Holds a Social Service Work or related Bachelor or Master's degree. Bachelor's or Master's credentials in education or adult learning are considered assets.
Is currently registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or is actively working in this capacity.
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, with the demonstrated application of adult educational principles and teaching/assessment methodologies;
Teaching experience in a fully online environment;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving and organizational and time management skills;
Experienced in the use of online technologies.
Self-motivated and independent worker with a track record in meeting deadlines.

will be given to candidates with relevant educational credentials and a proven
track record of relevant work/teaching experience. Please note
