Job Description:

Are you passionate about swimming and teaching others the life-saving skill of swimming? Join our team at Alpha Swim Club as a Swimming Instructor We're seeking dedicated individuals who are certified and enthusiastic about providing high-quality swimming instruction to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Position Details:

  • Position: Swimming Instructor

  • Location: Alpha Swim Club, Winnipeg

  • Working Hours: Thursdays 6-8 PM & Saturdays 3-5 PM. Substitute with notice.

  • Certificates Required: National Lifeguard Service certificate, Swim for Life Instructor, Standard First Aid & CPR-C

  • NCCP Swimming certificate: Considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons to participants of varying ages and abilities.

  • Create and implement lesson plans that align with Alpha Swim Club's curriculum and standards.

  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants.

  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help swimmers improve their skills.

  • Ensure participants are practicing proper swimming techniques and water safety.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports for each participant.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Qualifications:

  • National Lifeguard Service certificate, Swim for Life Instructor, Standard First Aid & CPR-C are mandatory.

  • NCCP Swimming certificate is considered an asset.

  • Strong swimming skills and proficiency in various swimming strokes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs.

  • Previous experience as a swimming instructor is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • Passion for promoting water safety and a love for teaching others to swim.
