Nurse Job Description

We are currently seeking one or two Foot Care Nurses to work days and /or evenings in the Saint John, KV, HamptonCommunity . The candidate must be available to work a minimum of 1 day per week. The foot care nurse will visit clients in their home to provide foot care.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide foot to individuals in the Community.
  • Understand and implement infection prevention practices while specifically adhering to care standards as it relates to foot care, and diabetic foot care.
  • Assesses the health status of the client.
  • Adheres to Public Health guidelines for reprocessing and sterilizing foot care tools provided.
  • Document as per HBD guidelines.
  • Liase with HBD Team Members and foot care Administrator.
  • Attends team meetings as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification from an accredited Foot Care course.
  • Registered with the ANBLPN / NANB in good standing.
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
  • Experience working with clients in the community.
  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment to professional development and skill enhancement
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to work independently to provide care to clients in the home setting
  • Vulnerable sector police check
  • Up to date immunizations.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation
