Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with various needs, including those with disabilities, seniors, and patients in hospice care. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through empathetic and respectful interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
  • Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Support individuals with disabilities by facilitating their participation in community activities.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those dealing with dementia or chronic illnesses.
  • Help with mobility assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and caregivers, to implement care plans effectively.

Experience

  • Previous experience in home care, caregiving, or working in a nursing home setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus.
  • Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or require senior care is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of dementia care techniques will be beneficial for this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families are essential.
  • A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others are critical traits for success in this position.
