Youth Volunteer

Preschool Program Volunteers assist leaders with preparing and implementing a variety of programs for children ages 2-6Y.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time and ready for shift wearing proper uniform.
- Look over the lesson plans so you are aware of the activities scheduled for that day.
- Welcome participants and customers as they enter the space or program.
- Actively participate in all program activities and interact positively with children.
- Aid in the set-up and take-down of any equipment associated with the program.
- Assist with cleaning the space and supplies.
- Be aware of safety and emergency procedures.
- Willing and adaptable to learning new processes and following procedures.
- Supervise the participants and ensure they are following safety rules and guidelines.
- Assist by being a great role model: listen to the leader(s), sit with the group during instructions, etc.
- Help with any demonstrations or instructions as requested by the leader(s).
- Providing assistance to participants in developing and practicing new skills.
- Give positive feedback to participants.
- Regularly check messages and maintain communication with supervisors.
- Be responsible for logging hours on appropriate time sheets.
- Be enthusiastic
Work Term:
- September – June.
- Evenings and weekends.
- 2 shifts/week. Shifts are 2-3 hours long.
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
- Between 13 and 17 years of age.
- Completion of minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR C or Bronze Medallion.
- Completion of Volunteer Training – Provided by Westside.
