At Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES), the Engineering & Reliability Team supports the KAES manufacturing and terminal facilities in running a safe and reliable business. The team has diverse capabilities in mechanical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, project engineering, equipment condition assessment and nondestructive testing.

The Engineering & Reliability Team is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 focused on electrical systems.

What You Will Do

• Support the electrical team in validating electrical components for use inside the downhole tool
• Maintain clear documentation on design and test development
• Interface with outside material suppliers, contract manufacturers, and product distributors
• Provide products support and evolution
• Perform design and analysis for electrical systems, including power distribution and motor control
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical equipment and supporting reliability improvements

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year student in an Electrical Engineering degree or related degree, or alternative program. (e.g., 4 year college program, 2 year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
• Legal authorization to work permanently in Canada for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
• Ability to climb up to 150 ft above ground level on occasion
• Ability to lift 30 lb weight when required
• Ability to make confined space entry on occasion

What Will Put You Ahead

• Familiarity with PLC programming or DCS systems
• Exposure to electrical codes (Canadian Electrical Code, NFPA)
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical or control systems
