About The Role
Axiom Builders is looking to grow our Special Projects division with the addition of a Project Manager. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and supporting project delivery, including cost, project schedules, trade relationships and building quality. In addition, this role will have the opportunity to develop and mentor project coordinators and new construction professionals to ensure the department is set up for long-term success. You will work on wide ranging portfolio including large office Tenant Improvements, ground-up sales centres and unique commercial projects for top-tier clients around the Lower Mainland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects and ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
  • Lead contract negotiations and management with our trade partners;
  • Update the established construction schedule, preparing change order management and progress drawings;
  • Maintain and control comprehensive project documentation in a detail oriented manner;
  • Manage and build strong relationships with vendors, third party contacts, consultants, engineers and subtrade partners.

What You Bring
As a Project Manager, Special Projects, you have a keen interest in interior construction, tenant improvement, and customizable spaces. You will use your creativity to tackle technical complexities and keep up with a fast-paced ever-changing schedule. You are described as a people person – you can utilize your natural ability to lead, mentor, and work in a team to ensure a successful cohesive environment. You have the ability to build relationships with partners in the industry. You are excited by the challenge and opportunity to think on the fly in a highly detailed-driven team, working on a variety of unique interior spaces. You value a diverse team from all backgrounds and know how to draw on and leverage the strengths and experiences of people around.

Skills And Experience

  • At least five (5) years of experience in construction; ideally with experience in tenant improvement and special projects;
  • Certificate, diploma or degree in Construction or a related field or relevant experience in a special projects or interior construction role;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, and Excel;
  • Ability to communicate and represent Axiom Builders professionally;
  • Ability to motivate and establish effective relationships with trade partners;
  • General understanding of retail or commercial spaces in high-rise concrete towers will be considered an asset.
