Job Overview MaxECS is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team in Cochrane, AB. In this role, you will support teacher effectiveness by working with learners who require individualized supports for significant challenges, while promoting their independence and growth.

About Us We provide Early Childhood Services to children ages 3–5 who require additional support in preschool, daycare, and kindergarten programs. As an Educational Assistant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team that includes parents, program teachers, certificated teachers, and therapists. Together, we create safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments where children can thrive.

Position Details

  • School-year program (contracts end in June, dates vary by location)
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs, including behavioral challenges, is essential
  • Level 1 Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification required (or currently working toward completion)
  • Location: Cochrane, AB
  • This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and supervision for preschool-aged children
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Support children's learning in areas such as math, literacy, and social skills
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers
  • Assist with classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children

Skills & Requirements

  • Level 1 Early Childhood Education certification (or in progress)
  • Experience working with young children requiring additional support, including behavioral challenges
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Clear Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (applications from outside Canada will not be considered)

Hours Work hours will vary depending on program location.
