On behalf of our banking client, Procom is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a 12-month contract role. This position is a hybrid role, 3 days a week onsite at our client's Montréal, Quebec office.

Site Reliability Engineer - Job Description:

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving the reliability engineering, operations, and customer support services for the Bank's ServiceNow SaaS implementation. The role involves applying advanced SRE practices to deliver reliable, resilient systems without unnecessary operational effort.

SRE practices include task optimization and automation, prioritizing technical debt, observability and monitoring dashboards, capacity management, incident response, and problem elimination.

Site Reliability Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Deliver improvements to maximize the availability and performance of supported systems through optimized and automated operational tasks.
  • Troubleshoot ServiceNow issues and some on-premise capabilities in a Linux environment.
  • Explore and implement observability including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
  • Be available for on-call rotation with the global team.
  • Contribute to the documentation and understanding of the Firm's ServiceNow instances.
  • Identify and prioritize technical debt impacting client satisfaction or operational efficiency.
  • Provide feedback on policies and procedures to improve firm safety and efficiency.

Site Reliability Engineer - Mandatory Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • The ideal candidate would have at least one of: Software development skills in one or more programming language, e.g. Python, ServiceNow administration or development experience,
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Establishing effective relationships with colleagues
  • Dependable team worker with a commitment to client service
  • Ability to respond to technical emergencies
  • Open to work in on-call rotation

Site Reliability Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • ServiceNow administration or development experience

Site Reliability Engineer – Assignment Length:

This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
