About the Role:

TJ's Group is currently hiring an experienced Mulcher Operator to join our team for projects in Fort McMurray and the surrounding area. You'll be responsible for operating mulching equipment for vegetation control, lease preparation, utility right-of-way clearing, and wildfire mitigation work in a fast-paced oilfield environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate skid steer and tracked mulching equipment to clear brush, trees, and debris.

Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance on machines.

Safely navigate rugged terrain and work in remote locations.

Follow all site-specific safety procedures and report hazards.

Coordinate with crew leads and field supervisors to complete tasks on time.

Required Safety Certifications (Must Be Valid):

H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada – full in-person course required for new certification)

Standard First Aid with CPR Level C + AED (Red Cross, St. John, or Heart & Stroke certified)

WHMIS 2015

TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)

Ground Disturbance Level II (ABCGA or equivalent)

Class 5 Driver's License (clean abstract preferred)

TJ's Safety Orientation

Site Specific/ Permit Training as required

Assets (Not Mandatory but Preferred):

Skid Steer / Forestry Equipment Operator ticket or documented experience

Chainsaw Safety Certification

S-100 / D-100 Wildfire Suppression

CSTS 2020 or CSO (Construction Safety Orientation)

Experience working in oilfield vegetation or civil construction projects

Qualifications:

1+ year experience operating mulching equipment (skid steer/forestry mulcher).

Knowledge of safe machine operation and terrain hazards.

Strong work ethic and ability to work long hours in varying weather.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Must be comfortable working in remote locations and camp settings if required.
