in ensuring our facilities remain safe, modern, and inspiring spaces for
members, staff, and guests.
Overview
The
Superintendent / Facilities Crew Chief is responsible for leading a Facilities
team of 12–14 staff, overseeing day-to-day facility maintenance, small repairs,
and ensuring smooth operation of all club buildings, amenities, and grounds.
This hands-on leadership role includes managing minor projects, coordinating
contractors, and maintaining a safe, high-quality environment for members and
guests. Additionally this role requires supervision of routine preventative
maintenance programs and their applicable budgets. This person will assist in managing
vendors and service providers, and will be occasionally responsible for
contract review, proper invoicing, and vendor/process documentation.
Responsibilities
·
Provide daily direction, leadership, scheduling, and
mentorship to a team of 12–14 facilities staff.
·
Oversee preventive maintenance and repair work for tennis
courts and related infrastructure, clubhouse systems, pool facilities, commercial
kitchen, and dining areas.
·
Work hands-on to diagnose issues and complete minor repairs.
·
Assist as needed with managing external contractors and
specialized trades as needed, including RFPs, invoice management, and contract
reviews and renewals.
·
Plan and oversee small repair or improvement projects.
·
Maintain safety protocols, inspections, and compliance
documentation.
·
Manage inventory, tools, and equipment, including
implementing an inventory management system
·
Promote a safe, positive, and team-oriented environment
aligned with Jericho's values.
·
Use technology and/or communication tools to streamline
Facilities teamwork-flows and transparency of work completed, or in the project
pipeline.
·
Establish and monitor Club and Facilities team standards to
benchmark team performance and Club condition/look-and-feel.
·
Deliver and adhere to the Facilities Team operating budget in
collaboration with the Director of Finance
Qualifications
·
A Red Seal Trades-based background required, ideally in HVAC,
electrical, or plumbing.
·
3–5+ years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
·
Strong hands-on skills with tools and diagnostics.
·
Experience managing small repair projects or maintenance
operations.
·
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse
team.
·
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving
skills.
·
Experience in hospitality, recreation, or club environments
is an asset.
·
Must be available for emergency calls 24/7 and maintain an
open availability for work
