Job Profile

The Co-op will support the Production Engineering department introducing new equipment, tooling and processes for new products as well as participate in Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities to existing processes. 

During this work term, the Co-op Student will be assigned to support various Production Engineering activities and tasks such as: root cause analysis of problems, machine capability studies, equipment layout, jig & fixture design, poke-yoke (mistake proof), vision programming, machine or equipment procurement and project management.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Adaptable with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Team work oriented
  • Proficient in MS-Office
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Curious and problem solving oriented
  • Competence in CAD software (Auto-Cad and/or SolidWorks) is preferable
  • Participation in extra curriculars is a bonus

This specific Co-op term is ideally suited to fourth year students currently studying in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program or Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Systems Engineering Programs, seeking an eight-month placement.
