Data Engineering Manager


Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days/week or 8 days/month onsite)

Our client is a
global financial technology leader
focused on delivering cutting-edge data solutions and digital innovation to clients worldwide. They're seeking an experienced
Data Engineering Manager
to lead and mentor a team while owning the architecture and delivery of large-scale data platforms.

In this role, you'll design and optimize
Databricks
-based data solutions, perform
Python code reviews
, validate design decisions, and drive technical excellence across the engineering team. You'll work hands-on with
AWS or Azure
services to build scalable, secure, and high-performing data pipelines.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a team of data engineers and
    own the data architecture
    end-to-end
  • Design, implement, and optimize
    Databricks Lakehouse
    and data pipelines
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable Python code
  • Manage integration with
    AWS or Azure
    cloud services
  • Champion CI/CD, security, and performance best practices

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with
    Databricks
    and
    Apache Spark
    (must-have)
  • Proven leadership and experience in
    Python code reviews and design validation
  • Strong background with
    AWS or Azure
    cloud ecosystems
  • Expertise in
    data architecture, ETL frameworks, and performance optimization
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

2 interview rounds — one will be onsite in Toronto.
