Scientist/Consultant, Assay R&D – Limited Term/Contract (6 months), On-site/Hybrid/Remote
Job Description
The Scientist, Assay R&D (Contract) is a highly motivated, self-directed individual with expertise in multiplex qPCR and melt curve analysis for human SNP genotyping. The role will take the technical lead in assay design, data interpretation, and documentation of the design and development process. The Scientist will work with a high degree of independence, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical guidance to other members of the R&D team.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop multiplex qPCR melt curve assays for human genotyping.
- Establish data analysis method and result interpretation.
- Analyze, interpret, and present data to the R&D and project teams.
- Author technical documentation, protocols, and development reports.
- Work in accordance with company quality systems and development practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Hands-on experience in qPCR assay design, including multiplexing and melt curve analysis.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality scientific output within defined project timelines.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience in the design and development of multiplex qPCR-melt curve analysis assays for human allelic discrimination.
- Experience working in IVD product development and/or a regulated environment is an asset.
