Sanitation Associate

The Sanitation Associate – Evenings reports directly to the Sanitation Supervisor, Lead, or designate and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment throughout the facility. This role plays a key part in supporting daily operations by ensuring that all cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks are performed according to company standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the ability to operate cleaning and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for setup, process flow, and minor troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and thoroughly to maintain regulatory and operational compliance.
• Perform general facility cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, gathering and emptying trash cans, and servicing, cleaning, and supplying all washrooms.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with Good Production Practices (GPP) requirements.
• Notify the supervisor or designated personnel of any need for major building repairs or maintenance.
• Conduct regular inventory checks of cleaning supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Clean and sanitize processing and harvest equipment and machinery to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
• Operate equipment such as pressure washers, floor scrubbers, forklifts, and scissor lifts in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
• Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, ensuring alignment with operational and organizational goals.

• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
• Previous experience in facility cleaning, sanitation, or production environments preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Production Practices (GPP) or similar regulatory standards is an asset.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Capable of operating industrial cleaning and material-handling equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and move materials for extended periods.
• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Previous experience working within a greenhouse setting is preferred.
• Safety boots are required.
• Successful candidates will be required to provide a general police clearance.
• Reliable transportation is required (no public transit available).

• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, wet floors, and varying temperatures.
• Requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Shift work, evenings, or weekends may be required based on operational needs.
• Moderate physical demands, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive motions.
• Exposure to wet areas, greenhouse conditions, and cold weather environments.
